American Express will employ 3,000 people at its new Sunrise office.
The massive building at 1500 N.W. 136th Avenue is 888 feet long and is situated on a 40-acre site where 675 trees were planted and a lake was dug.
Suzanne Heidelberger, senior VP of global real estate and workplace enablement for the financial company (NYSE: AXP), said 3,000 people will work there.
Employees in the customer care call center, financial services, human resources, technology and travel and leader services will move into the building from the former offices in Plantation, Miami’s Brickell and Miramar over the next month and a half, she said. The first 300 employees will arrive on Jan. 30.
What they will find is a workplace with clean modern designs, abundant natural light and many amenities to de-stress. It features multiple game rooms with billiards tables, ping pong tables, a foosball table, a putting green, a room for fitness classes, showers and a wellness center with a nurse and nutritionist. There’s also a daycare center and playground on site.
